Receiving
Receiving areas accept delivered items, verifying
items are what was ordered, undamaged, in quantities ordered, and
that quantities received match delivery tickets. Received
items are either marked for and delivered to storage locations,
or marked for shipment to specific branches, depts. etc. Stored
items rotated so that oldest item is next to be used. Inventory
records are updated; receiving documents completed and forwarded.

Shipping Functions
Goods received are eventually shipped to the locations
at which they are used. This may be immediately after receipt,
or as needed by branch locations. Shipping also sends goods,
samples, or information to customers.

Document Control
