Accepted programs for PC system:

  • Quark 5.0
  • Illustrator 10
  • Freehand 9
  • CorelDraw 10
  • Photoshop 5.5

We do not support PageMaker files, due to font issues and no distortion factors available in program. However; we will try opening your file and if problems arise you will be contacted. Hint: (Best to send eps with all placed images and text converted).

File Information:

Must include all artwork files including placed or imported art.

All fonts must be included unless fonts are converted to outline format, or the closest matching font will be substituted for the fonts in the artwork. We will substitute closest font from our font library and will fax a copy for your approval to sign off on. Your order will be on hold pending receipt of approval. (We can use most TrueType and Adobe Postscript Type 1 fonts, be sure to include screen and printer fonts.)

Low resolution files such as .jpeg , .gif , & .pict do not reproduce well enough on Flexo or Letterpress plates to allow what is normally considered quality print reproduction. Quality print reproduction requires an original file resolution of 800 dpi or greater. This resolution is achieved with .tif or .eps files. We cannot convert low resolution files to high resolution files so we must ask that our customers agree, in writing, to accept low resolution file print reproduction or supply us with high resolution files where quality print is essential. (Hint: we output to film at 2400 dpi)

Art must be made to correct size of printed product.
Submit the original file if possible.
Never flatten/merge the layers of a .psd.

Four Color Process:
Text should remain on a separate layer or document from CMYK raster artwork.
Text and detailed Line art must be created using spot colors.
Large areas of consistent color (common CMYK value) should be created using spot colors.

Please do not send the only copy, as we are not responsible for loss or damage to your electronic media.

PDF Files: We can not accept files with screens or artwork with more than one color. Please send original file if it is supported by one of our programs, if not try sending it as an .eps file. (.pdf fonts must be converted)

Media Accepted:

  • 3.5 Floppy Disks - Mac or PC
  • 100MB or 250MB Zip Disks - Mac or PC
  • CDs

Files may be emailed to: wolfe_tag@ennis.com

File compression: This is suggested if you are sending your files via email.

StuffIt for (Mac) -- Zip for (PC) or any self extracting file.

Colors:

When assigning a color to any art or text, please use a spot color and not CMYK or RGB, unless the piece is a process job.

Additional Information:

Please attach the following information to the disk (or fax if art is sent via the Internet):

  • Any special instructions.
  • A hard copy of art on the disk showing color separations.
  • The directory showing the files on the disk.
  • A faxed hard copy must follow email for set-up verification!

Note: Following these instructions does not guarantee the art will output. If any of the above is not possible, please send "unscreened", color separated, black & white camera ready artwork. Laser printouts are not recommended as they do not produce a good quality finished product.

All files will be preflighted by our pre-press department to assure that we will be able to print a quality product.

Four-color process jobs must be furnished as a digital file. A printed sample is required; if one is not available we do not guarantee color matching. We do not match color laser printouts.

If you need any help please contact us.
